Sewa Sankalp Abhiyaan’ Celebrated at GRSE | ‘Aashirvad Ka Diya’ Lit

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) Ltd. hosted the ‘Sewa Sankalp Abhiyaan’ on the occasion of ‘Sewa Diwas’ at the Rabindranath Tagore Shipyard, Kolkata.

The event was graced by Shri Shantanu Thakur, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, as the Chief Guest Along with Shri Mukesh Mangal, Additional Secretary, MoPS&W; Cmde PR Hari (Retd.), Chairman & Managing Director, GRSE; Shri Rathendra Raman, Chairman, Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata; Shri Vikrant Rai, Principal Officer-cum-Joint Director General (Tech), Mercantile Marine Department Kolkata, and senior officials from DGMA, GRSE, SMPK, Sagarmala Finance Corporation Ltd. and participating shipyards from the eastern region.

As part of the celebrations, the Hon’ble Minister lit the ‘Aashirvad Ka Diya’, symbolising blessings, dedication and a collective commitment towards the growth of India’s maritime and shipbuilding sector.

During the programme, the Government of India’s initiatives for revitalising the Indian shipbuilding industry were presented, with schemes amounting to nearly ₹70,000 crore, aligned with the vision of MAKV 2047.

The event highlighted India’s aspirations to strengthen its shipbuilding capabilities and emerge among the top 10 shipbuilding nations by 2030 and top 5 by 2047
