Third Edition of Sagarmanthan: The Great Oceans Dialogue.

Shri Sushil Khopde IPS, The Addtional Director General of Maritime Administration is pleased to highlight the third edition of Sagarmanthan: The Great Oceans Dialogue, organised by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in collaboration with the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPS&W), from 7 to 9 October 2026 in New Delhi, India.

Sagarmanthan is a premier international platform bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, scholars, civil society representatives, media, and multilateral organisations to deliberate on key issues concerning the blue economy, maritime logistics, ports, shipping, waterways, and the global ocean economy.

The 2026 edition focuses on five thematic pillars: safeguarding maritime flows in a fractured world; promoting greener ships and shipbuilding; managing trade, connectivity and global uncertainties; strengthening ocean communities, cultures and livelihoods; and enhancing connectivity between harbour cities and their hinterlands.

Through dialogue, knowledge-sharing and international collaboration, Sagarmanthan aims to shape global maritime policy discourse, foster meaningful partnerships, and advance a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable maritime future.
