DGS Highlights Shipbuilding Vision at Sagar Sankalp – Kolkata

The Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), participated in Sagar Sankalp – Reclaiming India’s Maritime Glory, a high-level maritime and defence dialogue organised by The WEEK, in association with GRSE, on 6 March at ITC Royal Bengal, Kolkata.

Shri Pradeep Sudhakar, Chief Ship Surveyor, DGS, joined as a panelist in Panel 3: “Expanding the Fleet – Enhancing Range & Scale of Shipbuilding Capability”, contributing valuable insights on India’s evolving shipbuilding landscape.

The discussion focused on opportunities emerging from global trade shifts, energy transition, and worldwide fleet renewal cycles. The panel examined pathways to expand India’s shipbuilding range—from conventional vessels to next-generation, technologically advanced platforms for both domestic and international deployment.
